Burgers & Brats and Shoal Creek Tavern — the two burgers I send people to in Flower Mound and Highland Village.
This side of Denton County doesn’t get enough credit for its burger game. Two worth the weekend.
The shortlist
Burgers & Brats. Flower Mound’s hometown burger-and-bratwurst spot, seriously underrated. Hand-crafted patties, locally sourced ingredients, fries cut fresh daily. The Crime Scene burger alone is worth the trip.
Shoal Creek Tavern. Highland Village’s best-kept dinner spot doubles as one of the best burgers around. The Kobe steak burger and the brie jalapeño are the reasons to go; the scratch kitchen and fireplace are the bonus.
